“Wearable Art” SEries

Admittedly, I hadn’t thought about creating Art on a wearable or upcycled textile surface. Then, one evening, I grabbed an old denim jacket and went to town. I fell instantly headlong into loving this medium! There is just something about the way the paint interacts uniquely with the cloth and material…it makes things super interesting from a layering perspective. Now, I cannot get enough of this awesomeness. I am currently accepting vintage denim projects from all folks who need a historic wardrobe piece dashed with color and pizzazz. Please email me for details. I hope you enjoy these works of “Wearable Art” my friends!!!

“Pastorale”

(acrylic and oil on denim)

This piece was my first clothing sale and went to a dear friend. I am really happy with the way it turned out. She asked me for a more pastel look and I think it really developed. Hope you enjoy!

“Stained Glass Sunrise”

(acrylic and oil on denim)

This is definitely one of my favorites thus far. I got the idea to try to mimic stained glass and I think the overall effect works nicely. Certainly looking forward to creating more in this vein.
